Writing down everything that is going on in your mind on to a piece of paper is a great yet simple habit. Daily journaling clears your thoughts and feelings.

You can use journalling in two ways to boost your daily productivity:

a) Using a planner:

A planner can be a lifesaver for you in the long run. At the beginning of every month, you can write down daily activities or tasks you wish to complete within a time frame.

Just make sure to incorporate 1 or 2 to-do tasks that are very important for you, in case you are a beginner in applying this listing method.

2. Get the Scariest Task out of the way:

When you take up that one task that is calling for your attention for a long time, you become one step forward in ticking off your priorities.

You may be unwilling to take up that scariest task in the beginning, but once you sit and activate your brain muscles to go for it, everything will start to become very easy.

Targeting the top priority activity is a very good habit to incorporate into your life if you want to improve your productivity.

A morning routine will change your life for the better.

Why listen to me?

Well, I used to be a person who was not a supporter of getting up in the morning and also having a routine to go by.

That continued for many years until something back in my mind was nudging me to change my habit and see the other side of the story!

And I listened to that good side. Guess what, having a simple morning routine changed the outlook and productivity of my whole day.

I am now able to recharge myself following a few routines in my morning schedule and turn my day into a productive one.

You will benefit by having your type of morning routine as a habit that you perform daily with intentions.

You will find yourself being more motivated to take up all your tasks in a planned way.

Following a morning routine helps you to improve productivity with a meaningful life.

4. Get Organized:

Organization of life in every form is an important habit to improve your productivity level.

When your life and home is clutter free you are motivated to work with focus. You are less overwhelmed with the mess which is the cause of the drain of energy from your mind.

Productivity starts with an organized lifestyle.

It is the simple daily habits that make you start getting into that flow of liking the act to organize and finding it very streamlined at the same time.

Organizing will help you to get out of the life rut and make you more productive in achieving your goals.

5. Time block your day:

A planner can be a great tool to follow habits to boost your productivity.

But if you want to accomplish any task within a particular time frame time blocking your day is an effective tool for enhancing your productivity.

For example, you want to clean a space in your house that is messed up for many days. Start with blocking time for 10 minutes and clean up within this time limit.

You may even set a timer to complete your task. In this way blocking time can help you to get many small work done quite quickly!

5. Take breaks:

We know that being overworked makes us stressed out and tired. This hurts your productivity level as your energy to tackle your day will deteriorate.

Taking breaks for a few minutes in between your work not only recharges your brain but also makes you more productive and makes you feel light.

You deserve self-care to cure your fatigued mind and body to recharge yourself for a happy and productive life.

6. Avoid Multitasking:

Taking up several tasks at a time will only leave you with failure and make you feel anxious.

Multitasking cannot be a healthy habit to improve your productivity level. When you are thinking about more than one work at a time your brain is not at rest.

Any task you do needs your complete attention to get it done with the least errors. But when you are doing work, for example, cooking a nice meal only when you want to watch a movie. At the same time, someone is ringing you on the telephone.

Guess what!

  • You may end up burning your good meal,
  • Missing that part of your favorite movie you are watching for the 100th time,
  • Miss out on that phone call that has been getting you anxious for so long!

Avoid multitasking and give your undivided attention to the task in front of you. Nothing else should matter to you.

You will feel less stressed when you have little in front of you to accomplish. Thus, focusing on one task at a time makes you more productive in your daily life.

7. Get Active with Exercise:

Regular exercise is a health booster as this habit improves your overall mood and thus has a positive impact on your productivity.

You do not have to be a gym person at all!

At least 5 minutes of the daily habit of exercise done from your home will release those feel-good chemicals in your body to help think clearly about your day’s activities.

Getting up in the morning doing a little bit of yoga, stretching, running, swimming anything which makes you willing to invest time in exercising is a productivity motivator.

You will find that with exercise and workout, you can concentrate more on your work thereby lessening the chances of error, which brings us to the next point…

8. Stay Hydrated and Eat Healthy:

Drink enough water throughout the day and stay hydrated.

Never wait until you start feeling super thirsty, keep on sipping water once in a while to boost that oxygen pumping your body. To make it easy try to keep water near your sight so that you lower the chance to miss it.

For example, while working I always keep a bottle filled up near me, or while retiring to bed place the water carafe by the bedside table (any place in the room where you can reach it easily).

Planning your meals also forms one of the habits to improve your productivity. Meal planning has become a dreadful task for many of us.

It involves deciding what to eat in a week or month, easy healthy recipes to try, pantry stocking, and grocery shopping according to the made plan.

If you are someone like me who gets chilled from thinking about planning a month’s meal ahead of time, try weekly meal prep. This will reduce the cooking load on you by narrowing down the recipes, ingredients, pantry, and shopping lists.

Making sure you are staying hydrated and having a healthy well-balanced diet will make you feel good in mind and body. And when your health is doing great you start to become more productive in your tasks.

9. Simplify your Life:

Choosing to carry on your daily activities in a slow and simplified manner is one of the habits to improve your productivity.

When you rush to complete one task and jump to the next you tend to complicate life. Living your life with less clutter and enjoying the present help you to have mental peace.

When you are at peace you are more productive in your activities. Going slow or living a simple life is not lagging behind others in this rat race!

It is about the right choices you make to live a life with more intention and dedication to any task.

Only this way you can be a more productive person who finds happiness in each trivial thing.

10. Be Mindful of What You Do:

Mindfulness is a deciding positive habit when it comes to boosting your productivity.

It is all about staying in the moment, giving all your attention to the task you are about to complete.

When you are committing to any activity like working, cooking, eating, meditating, playing, or going out for a walk just, anything always be mindful of what you are doing.

You are unable to be productive without being mindful of your surroundings and the tasks at your disposal.

11. Limit Distractions:

Avoid scrolling through your social media accounts first thing in the morning. This toxic habit depletes your fresh brain from doing anything productive later in the day.

Does it matter to you early in your day to know what that influencer from another part of the world is doing right now?

This Now, this Present only belongs to You.

So, grab it with all your strength!

You should pour all your well-rested energy into the cup of your life which needs you the most!

Limit your time on emails or messages while you are working during early hours. Shift that work to a later part of the day when your top priority work is almost done.

Otherwise, you will be left distracted in accomplishing some more important goals for the rest of your day!

12. Get Outdoor:

Do something fun that makes you happy and frees your mind.

Let go of the daily chaos and clutter clogging your brain by stepping outside.

Feel that fresh air and lose yourself to Mother Nature.

You are surely going to get pumped up from your mind, body, and soul.

A fresh mind and body will only help you to be more productive in any task you want to complete.

Going for a 10-minute walk is a balm to your tired mind that is going to make you more productive and alert in achieving your goals.

This is a very simple yet effective way to accomplish any task within a time frame.
