I have been doing this for a while, and it has helped me maintain a positive mood all day.
I am not asking you to force your mind. If any negative thoughts arrive, let your mind drift to something good.

Move Your Body, Go for a Walk, or Stretch
If you want good habits to upgrade your life, then start moving your body and going for walks.
I begin my day with light stretching to feel light. 20 minutes of exercise is a great way to stay fit and healthy in this new year.

Spend your free time doing something you love. Painting, playing an instrument, or baking can be your next hobby.
A hobby can make your life productive and enjoyable. Pick up what you have wanted to do for a long time.

I find daily journaling a therapy to put your thoughts on paper. Try putting your mind on a journal or a simple paper every morning when you wake up fresh, and while closing your day.
Make Hydration a Priority
Drink a glass of water when you wake up in the morning. I have been doing it every day, and it feels great.
Keep a bottle with you and refill it when it’s empty. With proper hydration, you will feel relaxed and your skin will be supple.
Take Ample Rest to De-stress
This new year, I promise myself to give ample rest I need without feeling missing out or being guilty.
Avoid burnout and relax after a long day’s work. You can rest whenever you feel overwhelmed. This is beneficial for recharging and de-stressing.
It is not always about doing something every hour just to tick the planner pages! Just sit quietly and do nothing. That’s it!
Say Gratitude Prayer
Fill your life with gratitude and welcome joy. Being grateful makes you happy. Show gratitude for every small thing in your life. Like a cup of morning coffee or a parking space.
Open the door for your abundance by feeling grateful in life.
Eat Healthy Food and Snacks
Add more healthy food to your plate this year. Have fruits and vegetables in your platter to enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
Munch on almonds, dry fruits, cashews, or seeds to keep sated. Make your snack time nutritious and tasty.
You don’t have to stop eating your cheat food. Be intentional about enjoying a balanced portion each week.
Set a Regular ‘Me Time’
Set aside 20 minutes just for yourself. I schedule this ‘Me Time’ to make myself happy and relax. It can be a nap, enjoying the natural view, or doing nothing.
Try to enjoy small things in life and fall in love with yourself. Start with once a week, just for yourself.
Read Books You Love
Start with one book a month. See what interests you the most. You can read a few pages every morning or before going to bed.
I find reading very helpful as it helps to clear my mind. You can give reading a shot this new year if you are a beginner.
Visualize with a Vision Board
Keep daydreaming to visualize your ideal life. You can make an actual vision board for strong inspiration.
Cut out images, make cute quotes or slogans, and paste them on a paper board. Decorate well to feel with it.
You can also keep a digital vision board to see all your desires already realised. A strong new year habit to upgrade your life.
Keep Your Space Clean
Before retiring to bed, I make sure my kitchen sink is clear. It is a happy scene to see once I wake up in the morning!
You can start by clearing the table or keeping your daily wear away every evening. I take up a small portion of my home and clean it once a week. This helps me stay organized and stress-free.
No Digital Screen 30 minutes Before Bedtime
Turn off your digital gadgets 30 minutes before retiring to sleep. Keep your phone away from you. Better kept in a DND mode.
Allow yourself to feel drowsy without the interruption of any screen time. This surely helps to fall asleep without any trouble.

Set a To-do List
Every morning, I set my daily priorities with three things to accomplish. You don’t need ten of them; the two most important are perfectly alright.
It is about being satisfied with yourself. It is not about being unhappy with numerous unmet commitments. This way, your to-do list can be achievable. You can focus and be happy.
You don’t need to adopt all the habits together. Try a habit that fits your lifestyle.
