Suppressing or bottling up your sorrow thinking that will vanish right now will only aggravate your trigger point later at some point. Acknowledging your current feelings will help you to validate the pain you are in right now.

For example, if you start to force yourself that you will not think of that person or that mistake anymore you are sparring with your current mind which is in deep pain.

Your mind is delicate and susceptible to any situation, image, or song that takes you to that moment and forces you to open that closed-off dam of emotions. Face your pain while it is raw to slowly mitigate that feeling with time.

Take time to cry out or vent your pain so that a point comes when that low feeling no longer exists. Even if it does, it will only be a vague memory that has no power to beat you down in life!
